Developing a Personal Purpose Statement
Part 6
Closing Line
Congratulations…you have reached
the end of this exercise; the closing sentence of your personal purpose
statement. This is where you find a single sentence that completes the journey.
Your closing purpose is the last thing you want to remind yourself to stay in
balance with your entire statement.
Mine: “To leave this world
better off than I entered it!”
Whatever you need to say to
remind yourself of what you are working towards.
Once you have created all of
these lines you know have to put them together as one full statement. This is
not something you need to commit to memory as that can produce apathy about it.
Rather, I like to refer back to it and refresh my mind to the exact words from
time to time. Your goal is to know the idea of your purpose. If for any reason
you lose balance you can look back at your entire statement and remind yourself
of where you are and where you are headed.
Now that you have created
your “Personal Purpose Statement” print it out and post it where you can look
at it from time to time. However, remember not to become complacent or
apathetic about it. Again, congratulations on your success! Should you have any
